Emergency Ultrasound

This two-day ultrasound training course will enable you to obtain proper and diagnostic ultrasound images by boosting your understanding of imaging protocol and procedures. It will teach you the skills to be able to recognize anatomy and pathology and how these both translate to the ultrasound image. You will learn the basics of ultrasound physics and instrumentation, the skills to perform abdominal trauma exams, the FAST procedure, 1st trimester pregnancy, ultrasound for the evaluation of the biliary tract and basic cardiac ultrasound scan. These will all have a great impact on your ability to accurately and efficiently treat your patients.

Registrants in this educational course will also take part in hands-on scanning labs, either in a classroom-based teaching environment with live models or your own emergency department. In either venue, our faculty will teach you the essential skills and techniques to be able to scan accurately and properly in an effort to maximize your diagnostic skill.

Critical Care Ultrasound

As with Emergency Ultrasound, this two-day ultrasound training course will enable you to perform proper and diagnostic ultrasound exams. It will teach you the skills to be able to recognize anatomy and pathology and how it is relevant to the ultrasound image. You will learn the basics of ultrasound physics and instrumentation, vascular access, intra-thoracic and intra-abdominal fluid collections, FAST exam, diagnosis of DVT, bladder evaluation and more. This course can be tailored to your department's specific needs.

Registrants in this educational course will also take part in hands-on scanning labs, either in a classroom-based teaching environment with live models or your own emergency department. In either venue, our faculty will teach you the essential skills and techniques to be able to scan accurately and properly in an effort to maximize your diagnostic skill.

Vascular Ultrasound

This ultrasound training course will cover vascular anatomy and hemodynamics and will enable the participant to understand the use of color and duplex ultrasound in diagnosing arterial or venous pathology. Doppler physics and instrumentation will also be covered in depth to teach you how to correctly interpret the information that you acquire during your scan. You will gain an actual working knowledge of how to optimize the Doppler instrumentation to improve your diagnostic and scanning ability. Our faculty will instruct you in the use of ultrasound in carotid, peripheral venous upper and lower extremities, peripheral arterial upper and lower extremities, Ankle Brachial Index and abdominal vasculature. You will be able to differentiate between normal and abnormal studies and you will learn valuable scanning tips and tricks to maximize the diagnostic value of your scan. As with all of our educational modules, live scanning sessions will be a part of the course, either in our education-based environment with live models or at your own facility.

Venous Insufficiency and Closure

This ultrasound training course begins with a basic understanding of venous anatomy and physiology. You will be able to identify and evaluate the lower extremity venous system. Doppler physics and instrumentation will also be covered in depth to teach you how to correctly interpret the information that you acquire during your scan. You will gain an actual working knowledge of how to optimize the Doppler instrumentation to improve your diagnostic and scanning ability. You will learn how to identify venous insufficiency and deep vein thrombosis. Endovenous laser treatment and guidance will be reviewed as well as a follow up protocol. As with all of our educational modules, live scanning sessions will be a part of the course, either in our education-based environment with live models or at your own facility.

General and Abdominal Ultrasound

This ultrasound training course will allow the participant to engage in ultrasound scanning to evaluate the abdominal organs. The liver, biliary tree, kidneys, pancreas, spleen and abdominal vessels will all be included and specialized skills in evaluating these organs will be covered. General ultrasound physics and instrumentation will be covered to assist you in correctly interpreting the information you gather during your scan. As with all of our educational models, our faculty will assist you in performing ultrasounds with either live models or at your own facility. Additionally, a section devoted to small part scanning including thyroids, superficial structures and testicular ultrasound will be covered. An integrated approach of lecture, demonstrations, scanning and correlation of ultrasound appearance of normal versus abnormal will be covered.

OB/Gyn Ultrasound

This ultrasound training course will cover in depth the obstetric ultrasound examination and ultrasound evaluation of the non-gravid pelvis. Normal and abnormal fetal anatomy and the ultrasound appearance of fetal anomalies are included. Correct dating, cervix and placenta evaluation along with biophysical profile exam are included. We carefully follow AIUM guidelines in order to provide accurate ultrasound education. A section devoted to the general physics and instrumentation of ultrasound will be covered so that you can understand the workings of your ultrasound machine. As with all of our educational modules, live scanning will be offered as part of this training course, either with our models in our education-based environment or at your own facility.

GYN Ultrasound

This ultrasound training course is designed for the practitioner that is interested in the non gravid pelvis. We will review normal anatomy of the uterus, endometrium, cervix, ovaries and adnexa. You will gain a practical knowledge of transabdominal and transvaginal scanning techniques. The course includes uterine and ovarian pathology and the importance of duplex ultrasound evaluation. Ultrasound physics and instrumentation will be discussed briefly to explain the workings of your ultrasound system and artifacts. This program is based off the AIUM guidelines. We will also review proper CPT coding for maximum reimbursements. We are available to come to provide hands-on training in the comfort of your own office. Please contact us for more information.

Breast Ultrasound

This ultrasound training course will provide a basic knowledge of the technical and clinical aspects of breast ultrasound. It includes the basic principles and instrumentation required to achieve optimal breast imaging. By the course end, you will be able to recognize normal breast anatomy and evaluate lesions for benign or malignant characteristics. You will have a working knowledge of breast imaging protocol, invasive treatment options and biopsy techniques. Mammography evaluation and comparison along with hands-on training will give you a well rounded view of this important modality.

Veterinary Medicine

All of our ultrasound training courses can be tailored to the specialized interests of veterinary medicine. We can design an educational course based on the needs of your own practice, be it small animal, general or equine in nature. Please contact us regarding your veterinary practice and we can assist you in maximizing your diagnostic capabilities while making ultrasound a regular part of your everyday practice.
